Every season has it’s own set of cozy wear, wouldn’t you say? During the winter, my go-to was usually a pair of leggings with an oversized sweater. This spring, I’ve been finding myself gravitating towards a different type of uniform.
For the first time in a long time, I’ve been denim-obsessed! I feel like this goes against the #momcode of leggings and athleisure (which will always hold a special place in my heart), but ever since I went a little crazy buying jeans from American Eagle and Loft, they’re all I want to wear! There’s something about high-waisted jeans that is so comfy and supportive, just like a good pair of leggings 😛 And I’ll admit that I used to be a denim snob, but these retailers have really stepped up their game!
Here are some of my denim faves:
Since spring weather in Western PA can be pretty unpredictable, I like to layer on top. I tend to go for a comfy cotton tee or tank and cardigan.
Here are my go-to tops and cardigans:
Depending on how warm or cool the weather is on that particular day, I may cuff my jeans or forgo the cardigan. I’ve also been enjoying pairing these basic outfits with statement earrings and delicate necklaces. You’d be surprised how much accessories can change up the overall look! Shoes-wise, I pair these with loafers or sandals and I’m all set. Casual enough for my everyday #momstyle yet put together enough to run errands and be out and about in public 😛 What more could you ask for 😉 ?
What has your daily uniform been lately? I’m looking forward to summer where I hope to live in sundresses, but who knows, I might get on the romper/skort train. I’ll definitely keep you guys posted. In the mean time, be sure to check out my picks above because almost everything is on sale (at the time of this post going up). Shop each item by clicking on the picture.
Laundry tip: I’ve shared these (and these) mesh bags before, but I figured it was worth a second mention because this is one of my biggest tips to keeping my jeans, tees and cardigans looking and feeling new. I place my clothing in these bags before placing in the washer, add a Shout Color Catcher sheet in with the load and once the wash cycle is over, I hang all of the bagged items up to dry. The result: less shrinking, pilling and wear n’ tear. Such an easy way to protect your wardrobe investments 😀 !
