Happy 2020, BittaFab Fam!
2019 was the year I made the full switch to clean beauty #cleanstreak . I’m so happy to share that I stuck to that promise and in doing so, had a chance to discover so many new and amazing brands. It was like falling in love with beauty all over again!! So for those of you who are debating making the change, I stay go full steam ahead and don’t look back! There are amazing, top quality products with good-for-you ingredients.
I picked up this lovely PYT Beauty palette during the Credo Beauty Black Friday sale and found myself reaching for it so much that I took it on vacation with me this past holiday season. It was the only eyeshadow that I had, so I definitely got to thoroughly test it out.
At first glance, the reds and the sparkles might not make you think this is an everyday, warm palette, but this palette has a very wearable combination of colors and finishes, with outstanding pigmentation. Very brown girl friendly neutrals! I have worn each shade multiple times and the mattes are creamy and buildable, while the shimmers/glitters are very versatile. I have applied the glitters/shimmers wet or dry, depending on how much drama I wanted (just spritz a bit of Addictive Cosmetics Fix-It or whatever mixing medium you like on the brush before applying). You can apply the glitters/shimmers with fingers or a stiff shadow brush for a saturated look, or use a fluffier brush for more of a subtle sparkle.
With the ongoing popularity of warm neutrals (think Urban Decay Heat, Cherry, etc.), this palette really fits into that category. I love how there are four mattes, two shimmers and two glittery shades. It really makes this small, very travel-friendly, palette applicable for a wide range of uses, be it a business formal work situation or a glam, Desi wedding. Super impressed with the actual shadow quality and longevity as this is a more affordable clean beauty brand (Note: I did wear my standard Smashbox eye primer underneath at all times, as I’m prone to oily lids/creasing).
For this look, I mixed Sand Dune and Simmer and applied them in my crease and a bit onto the lid as a transition color, to allow all future shadows to layer a bit more smoothly and to allow for easy blend-ability. I then, packed on the red glittery shade, Sunset, with my fingertip to the entire lid area. Once I reached full saturation, I used my fingertip to apply the gold glittery shade, Golden Hour, to the center of my lid, just one layer, for a bit of depth. I applied a mix of Simmer and Flicker to blend out the crease and then added Slow Burn to the outer corner, to add a bit of depth and shadow. I used my fingertip again to apply the pale shimmery shade, Moonlit Glow, to my inner corner and under my brow bone, to brighten things up, and ran the darkest matte brown, Slow Burn, softly on my lower lash line. Add black liquid liner and several coats of mascara and Voila! You can omit or add drama, switch it up from a reddish lid to a gold lid, there are so many possibilities here for very different looks. I’ve even done as little as simply applying Sand Dune mixed with Simmer in my crease, run Slow Burn across my upper lash line, apply mascara and call it a day – eye look done!
