    Brand Spotlight: Ilia Beauty

Recently, while editing a GRWM, a brainwave hit me – I’ve got a lot of Ilia Beauty products in my collection (check out my Minimal and Quick Clean Beauty FOTD here)! Not only that, but I reach for them often and have developed pretty strong opinions along the way. I know I’ve demo-ed and spoken about products here and there (especially on Instagram: BittaFab), but I’m ready now to give you guys more of an in-depth review. Grab a cup of coffee and settle in – this is gonna be a long one 🙂 ILIA Beauty I was attracted to Ilia right from the start, with their modern website and…

    Indian Wedding GRWM

Another weekend, another wedding…but this time, Desi style! I’ve already shared some wedding guest inspo for an American-style wedding, so I thought it would be nice if I brought you guys along with me as I got ready for the Sangeet (dance-party/talent show night) before the wedding. I mean, who doesn’t love a little fast-forwarded, makeup application, twirly dress action? 😉 The products I used (in order) are listed below: Smashbox Photo Finish 24 Hour Shadow Primer Urban Decay Double-ended Shadow/Blending Brush Too Faced Peanut Butter & Jelly Palette  Makeup Revolution Renaissance Flick Eyeliner Pen Tarte Shape Tape Contour Concealer in Tan Sephora Collection PRO Airbrush Detail Brush #57 RMS…

    An Everyday Glam Makeup Look

If a picture’s worth a thousand words, then a video’s gotta be a novel’s worth! There’s no better way to share my latest favorite makeup look and how I apply each product 🙂 Disclaimer: I’m pretty excited about this everyday sparkly look and while I’m definitely not a makeup artist, I hope that some of my tips are helpful for those looking to amp up their daily look. The video is definitely on the longer side and I happened to film while multiple tractors were running (sorry, lol!), but I genuinely love these products and think they can be flattering for a wide range of skin tones. Products used, in…

Clean Beauty: Part 3 – Where to Start?

The world of clean beauty and skincare can be a bit overwhelming. It’s one thing to pick a new deodorant, but now what? Making the change takes you away from the familiar comfort of all the mainstream products you’ve used and relied on your whole life and drops you smack into unknown territory. Between learning a whole new language of ingredients, getting used to and testing new products, the inevitable greenwashing, all the while trying to be sensible and shop smart, I’ve questioned why I’m on this journey more than a couple times. I know I’ve barely dipped more than my pinky toe into this venture and there are many…

    Epic Lash Combo!

Happy National Lash Day, BittaFab Fam! Normally, I don’t indulge silly holidays, but this is one I can get behind. Mascara would definitely be one of my desert island products. Long, dark, curled, voluminous, fanned lashes really make a big difference by opening up your eyes and just instantly making you look more put together. Obviously a major concern when stuck on a desert island… 😉 My Epic Lash Combo: Lancome Cils Booster XL Mascara Enhancing Base + Cover Girl Clump Crusher Water Resistant I have been wearing this particular lash duo for the better part of a year (and the only way I may move on from it is…

    What’s my skin type?

Generally speaking, people typically fall into one of four skintypes: normal, dry, oily, or combination. As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I have dry skin. Over the years, aestheticians have pointed this out to me at facial appointments. I would always respond with a ‘but I moisturize daily…” and it wasn’t until quite recently that I started to actually address this issue. (I’ll be sharing my skincare regimen soon!) But, simply put, that’s how I found out what my skin type is. For those of you who don’t know your skin type and don’t feel like getting a facial just to find out, you are in luck! I came across…

    Battle of the Concealers

To paraphrase Bobbi Brown, concealer is one of the secrets of the universe. Now that’s a pretty bold statement, but I’m likely to agree.  Don’t judge, life with toddlers really cuts into my beauty sleep! Come to think of it, one of the other secrets may be coffee 😛 I’m not really into foundation. I’ve tried my hand at some tinted moisturizers and powder foundations in the past, but for as *extra* as I can be, I can’t be bothered with that extra step (yet 😛 ). There’s just so much blending and perfecting to do! Instead, I put all of my eggs into the concealer basket. I like to use a…

    My Autumn Sephora Haul(s)

Note: By total coincidence, this post is going up just as the Sephora Beauty Insider Holiday Hooray Event is starting (11/29-12/12). If you’re in the mood to shop but need a little inspiration, check out my recent purchases!  Am I the only one who finds a sale hard to resist? I could be completely satisfied, without a single consumeristic thought in my mind, but the second I see that Sephora is offering 20% off for VIBs for two fall weekends in a row…and then again for another (magical) extended weekend…I can’t not participate! As I had mentioned with my most recent Ulta haul, I wait for these sales to stock…

Ulta v. Sephora: Volume I – Point Perks

Sephora and Ulta Beauty are THE two most recognized, brick-and-mortar, makeup megastores, world-wide. In my baby-free, Manhattan days, I would spend hours pouring over Sephora’s vast selection (there were no Ulta’s on The Island back then 🙁  ), amassing my makeup stash. There was a store at the entrance of my subway station – the Universe was practically forcing me to go there, buy all the makeup and become a VIB Rouge (#cringe). Now, my closest Sephora is a 30-minutes drive away and while I always have the option to shop online, my local Ulta Beauty is much closer and allows me to swatch and play with high end AND…
